If you are looking for sucess in finding a new job you have probably reviewed your CV over and over, honing it to perfection. I’m not asking you to reinvent the wheel here, but I am asking you to start today by asking yourself four questions.
As you are answering them – don’t feel you need to build your CV again, try to take a fresh look at yourself with each question, and answer from your heart.
Lets start with some research and take stock of your resources, Look at your strengths and weaknesses. Consider:
- what do you enjoy doing?
- What are your skills and abilities?
- Have you done a psychometric profile? there are several free online tests which can reveal interesting characteristics about you.
- List your experience.
- Write down your major achievements.
- Make a note of your educational and academic achievements.
Is there someone you know who has a job you’d really like to have?
What would it take to do a job like that?
Think about the sort of environment in which you would really like to work.
